Common privacy questions

What information does Affordit hold?

This depends on the features you use. It can include account details, the figures you enter, saved plans, progress updates, shared-plan records, support messages and limited technical or usage information needed to run and protect the service.

Can a university or college see my plan?

Not by default. Education partners receive aggregate engagement reporting rather than named salaries, debts, savings, rent, results or saved plans. Any different arrangement would require a clear lawful basis and transparent notice.

What happens when I share a plan?

Anyone with a valid shared-plan link may be able to view the shared snapshot. A recipient who saves a copy creates an independent plan in their own account; they do not gain access to the owner’s account or original plan.

What information may be used by Ask Affordit?

Where the feature is available, it should receive only the owned plan context needed to answer the question. Affordit does not send passwords or card details, and automated explanations do not replace the deterministic calculation behind a plan.

How long is information kept?

Retention is based on purpose, legal obligations, security and dispute handling rather than keeping information indefinitely. The Data Retention Summary explains the categories, while exact periods remain subject to final approval.
