Scope of this statement

This statement covers Affordit’s public website, planner, account and saved-plan journeys, Trust Centre and mobile-app experiences. Third-party websites reached through an external link are responsible for their own accessibility.

This statement does not claim independent certification or complete conformance unless the listed journeys and assistive technologies have been fully reviewed.

Our target

Affordit aims to meet WCAG 2.2 AA across its website, planner, account areas and mobile apps. Full compliance has not been independently certified.

Accessibility is intended to be part of design, development, content approval and release acceptance rather than a separate exercise at the end of a project.

What we test

  • Keyboard navigation and focus order
  • Form labels, instructions and error messages
  • Colour contrast and zoom
  • Screen-reader compatibility
  • Reduced-motion preferences
  • Plain-language comprehension
  • Responsive reflow, text spacing and browser zoom
  • Touch-target size and mobile keyboard behaviour

How we design for inclusion

Affordit aims to use consistent navigation, descriptive headings, visible focus, labelled controls, understandable status messages and errors that explain how to recover.

Financial information should be written in plain English and should not rely on colour, animation or specialist terminology alone to communicate meaning.

Known limitations

Some smaller mobile controls remain scheduled for improvement towards a 44px touch-target recommendation. Additional formal assistive-technology and accessibility review remains part of launch validation.

Known issues are recorded and prioritised by user impact. The final published statement should identify affected content, available workarounds and expected remediation rather than making a broad unsupported claim.

Report a barrier

Users can request an alternative format or report an accessibility barrier through the monitored Affordit support route. Include the affected page and a short description, but do not include passwords or financial details.

Reports should be acknowledged, assessed and assigned to an owner. If a user cannot access an essential journey, Affordit should offer a reasonable alternative where practical.

Review and evidence

Critical journeys are reviewed using keyboard navigation, screen readers, zoom, contrast and cognitive-accessibility checks. External audit or certification will only be claimed when it has genuinely been completed.

Accessibility evidence, known issues and remediation progress are reviewed under the Trust Centre governance schedule.

Questions or concerns

Contact the monitored Affordit support route. Include the affected page, but do not send passwords, card details, bank details, identity documents or unnecessary financial information.
