Why this notice exists

Affordit is for young people as well as adults. If you are 16 or 17, this notice explains the most important privacy points in direct, plain language. The full Privacy Policy gives more detail.

We apply protective standards to younger users and do not assume that everyone has the same financial confidence, support or circumstances.

What information do you use?

You choose what numbers to add to a plan. We use them to show what a goal could mean each month. We also use the account and technical information needed to run and protect the service.

This can include your email address, age or age band, the goal you choose, amounts such as savings or regular costs, saved plans and messages you send to support. You should only enter information needed for your plan.

Why do you use it?

We use your information to run the planner, explain results, save plans you choose to keep, protect your account, respond to questions and understand whether the service is working.

Your plan is designed to help you explore choices. It is not used to decide whether you can borrow money, enter education, get a job or receive statutory support.

Can my college or university see my plan?

Your college or university does not normally see your personal financial numbers or individual plan. It may see totals such as how many students started or completed a plan.

It does not normally receive your named salary, debts, savings, rent, result or saved plan. A different arrangement would need a clear lawful reason and would have to be explained to you.

Do you sell my information?

No. Affordit does not sell your information. We do not use your personal financial information to pressure you into buying something. Commercial content must be labelled and must not change your plan result.

Does Affordit use AI?

Affordit may use AI to help explain some information in plain language. Core affordability calculations and rules are kept separate and identified as deterministic.

AI does not make lending, admission, employment or other legally significant decisions about you. You can report an explanation that feels wrong, harmful or confusing.

Can I change or delete my information?

You can ask what information we hold, correct it or delete your account. You can also report an answer that feels wrong, harmful or confusing through the monitored support route.

If you are worried about privacy or safety, you can ask a trusted adult or contact Affordit support. Affordit is not an emergency service; contact emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.
